At Better Breed Cameroon, we’re dedicated to creating safe environments, empowering young people, and cultivating a more informed and peaceful generation of Cameroonian youth. Here’s an overview of our key initiatives for the upcoming year:
Empowering Initiatives
- Safe Spaces for Adolescents: We’ll provide dedicated safe spaces where adolescents can thrive. These sessions, led by trained facilitators, offer:
- Mentorship from positive role models.
- Skill-building workshops focused on leadership and personal growth.
- Open and respectful discussions to boost assertiveness, self-esteem, and confidence.
- Motivation to remain in school and pursue their aspirations.
- Youth Skills Training: We’re committed to equipping young people with essential life skills and entrepreneurial knowledge.
- Trainings on Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Adolescents will receive crucial training on mitigating and preventing Gender-Based Violence.
- Trainings on Creative Writing: We’ll offer workshops focused on creative writing and advocacy, empowering youth to express themselves and champion causes.
Fostering Education & Engagement
- Reading Clubs and Annual Reading Caravan: To cultivate a strong reading culture, we’ll host weekly reading club meetings in both primary and secondary schools, culminating in our Annual Reading Caravan in April 2026.
- Sama Randy Youth Write Contest: This essay writing competition is open to Anglophone and Francophone Cameroonian undergraduates, encouraging critical thinking and written expression.
- Campus Career Day: University undergraduates will benefit from career orientation sessions to guide their future paths.
