Better Breed Cameroon empowers 15 adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon through sessions on identity, self-worth, resilience, digital safety, career guidance, and future planning.
Creating Safe Spaces for Adolescent Girls to Learn, Reflect, and Grow

Better Breed Cameroon continues to advance its commitment to youth empowerment by creating safe learning spaces where adolescent girls and young women can develop confidence, gain practical knowledge, and make informed decisions about their futures.
Through an empowerment and mentorship engagement in Yaoundé, Better Breed Cameroon equipped young girls with essential life skills focused on identity, self-worth, resilience, digital safety, and career planning.
The initiative responded to critical challenges affecting adolescent girls today, including limited access to mentorship, social pressures, online risks, and uncertainty around future educational and career choices.
Empowering Girls Through Identity, Self-Worth, and Resilience
Under the theme “The Young Girl and the World Around Her,” Better Breed Cameroon facilitated conversations aimed at helping adolescent girls understand themselves, recognize their value, and develop a stronger sense of purpose.Led by COO Merveille Dongmo, the session explored the importance of identity, self-esteem, and resilience in shaping personal growth and decision-making.Participants reflected on how societal expectations, stereotypes, and external influences can affect how young girls perceive themselves. They were encouraged to build positive self-images, embrace their strengths, and recognize their ability to become leaders and contributors within their communities.
Supporting Girls Through Meaningful Holiday Engagement

The engagement came at a timely period during the school holidays, when many adolescents may experience increased exposure to peer pressure, unhealthy influences, and online challenges.By providing a safe and supportive environment for dialogue, Better Breed Cameroon helped participants develop the confidence and awareness needed to navigate these challenges positively. The sessions emphasized the importance of mentorship, self-awareness, and access to accurate information in helping young women make choices aligned with their aspirations.
