BBCam Letter-Based Mentorship Program: Lessons on Consistency and Growth

Dear younger self,

I write you this letter at a time when i have grown in wisdom and experiences which only time can bring. I want to give you a hug, hand you a handkerchief to dry your tears, sit right next to you, give you answers to the barrage of questions running through your mind and remind you that the future is bright.

I know you recall the moments of uncertainty and hopelessness that shrouded you at some point right, well, let me remind you that just like the wind they will pass. I hope you live in the moment, nurture your dreams and don’t let people project their inadequacies on you, remember you are the fabric of endless possibilities.

Fuel your curiosity each day, make the bookshelf your sanctuary, keep loving your parents and younger ones and loved ones, keep no grudges, you have just enough room for love not hate in your heart.

If ever you fail, try again because there’s never a failure , always a lesson. Those baby steps that you are constantly mocked for taking? Pay no attention to the people, they know no better.

Above everything embrace the highs and lows, the hugs and punches, life is not perfect but it sure is beautiful.

Your Older Self,

Njoke Raisa.
